With the hopes that with the dye mix preview can show how the mix itself will react to the different armors... Giving you the choice of the various professions to determine how a dye will react to the armor... Seeing that every profession has a different base color.

I think this would help people to come up with a unique color combo. It would be a lot cheaper then trial and error.

Trying to find current pictures of armor for the correct gender and profession and all the dye combinations on that armor is near imposible. Plus the mix and match option to see how pieces look together is something that would really help with different looks!

Nice work with the images, I'd love to see somethin like that. I'm currrently saving up for the Kurzick 15k Ritualist stuff and somethin like this would be much appreciated, especially if it didn't turn out the way I had hoped.

All they would need to do for the dyes is have a row of the 7 basic colors plus 1 for dye remover and a row of 4 slots above these 8 colors. Then you just drag a color or 3 into the different 4 slots. Add a mix/show button and that would give you the mixture right on whatever you were previewing.
Should be pretty simple as the colors are already ingame, mixing up to 4 times is ingame, and the output for the colors is ingame. Just need a simple interface as I've suggested to be programmed in and tested.

Wow, that would be really cool, and much easier to program. Great idea!
I'm working on a mega overhaul of the fitting room and dye preview concepts to be more "implementable" with all of the changes made to the process of buying armor in Factions. I hope to have it done within the next 30 days or so, I hope the overhauled ideas will be well liked. In the meantime, thank you all for so many /signed posts of appreciation

But perhaps have it like when you make a new PvP character and you select the armor like that.

I Love You Anet!!
Game Update, October 26:- A new Dye Preview panel lets you preview the effect of dye color combinations on your items before applying the dye.
- White and brown dye colors are now available as loot drops.
Man, this is like the awesomest thing ever. Well, for me anyways, and every other dye-a-holic
I'm still working on the new Fitting Room interface suggestion, haven't had much time to work on it so far but now I'm glad. I would've had to redo it all anyways due to the changes in the armor system with Nightfall.
Hope to have new stuff to share with everyone by mid-december.

Yes, GuildWiki helps immensely if you wonder what armor looks like in general. However, if you want to mix and match from different sets of armor, or you wonder if the armor will look good with your hair and body type, being able to preview the armor on your character would be really nice.

An armor preview or fitting room so needs to be done. That puny little icon at the bottom of the armorer's window is useless even on a 42" LCD (I've checked). I've had to go to the Guild Warriors website and print off images from their armor gallery as a means of remembering what I want for my characters. Even then, the jpegs on their site are small and of poor quality and print out even worse.
Please Arena Net make an armor preview feature with a large preview. Thank you.
